Germany’s Largest Online Gaming Services Raises $17 million in funding

Startup Meme just reported that GameDuell, one of Germany’s largest online gaming company, has successfully raised $17 million dollars in funding from Wellington Partners.

Sardar Mohkim Khan from Startup Meme says, “The money that it has raised is planned to be spend at international expansion with plans at making inroads to the US; something already being implemented. The reason; as pointed out by its CEO, Kai Bolik being the very successful marketing strategy that has yielded fruits in both France and Spain.  The company is into developing various skill games that include solitaire, Mahjong, darts etc. the players can compete with other players and win prizes.”

Founded in 2003, GameDuell will be expanding into the US market where they see tremendous potential for both user and revenue growth.  Casual online gaming has seen some of its greatest funding interest in the past 12 months due to its viral growth and the fact that it has lower operational costs than industries such as online video or social networking.
